Ceiriog Junior School
Ceiriog School is a Junior School maintained by Wrexham County Borough Council admitting pupils between the ages of 7 and 11. The majority of our pupils transfer from Chirk Infants School and the majority of our Year 6 pupils transfer to Ysgol Dinas Bran, Llangollen or Rhyn Park School in Shropshire.
The school was originally built as a Secondary school to serve the pupils of Chirk. It was then decided that the children would travel to Ysgol Dinas Bran for their Secondary education, and Ceiriog School was re-opened as a Junior School. It has been a junior school for approximately 40 years.
It is a large building and has extensive school grounds. Part of the first floor is used by the Youth Club on three evenings each week. Chirk Leisure Centre is situated on the school site and the community have use of the school hall during the evenings and the weekends. The school has exclusive use of the all weather pitch during the school day.
Inside the school we have spacious and attractive classrooms.
